Pairings & Recipes

I have always believed that wine and food are meant to be enjoyed together. When you share great food it nourishes the body and the soul.  With the abundance of fresh, seasonal, local produce available year round in Northern California its no wonder that it makes its way into our kitchen and onto our table.  I’ve always loved the idea of “Slow Food”: taking time to find and prepare the freshest ingredients, locally grown whenever possible, in the simplest way, to highlight the flavors in every bite. Our family loves food and we love wine and we look forward to going into the garden and seeing what awaits us …fresh basil, heirloom tomatoes, or the perfect melon.   There is nothing more satisfying than sharing great food and great wine with the people you care the most about.

Most of the recipes here are my own, but as you might expect, cooking (and eating) is a collaborative effort in our family.  You may see the influences of my husband Andy, who did his time in the kitchens in a former life, or our son Geoff who studied abroad in Rome last year.

Each month we will post a new seasonal recipe and wine pairing.

The ingredients will be simple to find but may take some time to prepare…it is slow food after all. But the emphasis is on enjoying the process; enjoying the food and enjoying those that you share it with.

So whether you are looking for new recipes to go with your Troubadour wine or a creative way to use your latest find at the local farmers market, check in and see what’s cooking!
